			This page is intended to help you to decide whether Monkhouse Hill Cottages are suitable for anyone in your party with special accessibility requirements. Please use the 'View - text size' facility of your web browser if you wish to see the website in larger text. All important information is also provided in the cottages in large text. Many of our cottages have downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms - however not all of these have downstairs living or dining areas. Please see the table below for details. We have a range of special kitchen and bathroom equipment available free of charge - please contact us to discuss your needs and we will try to help. We can also borrow larger items such as wheelchairs through our local Red Cross.

There is ample car parking space at Monkhouse Hill, adjacent to the cottages. A reserved and/or double width space closest to your cottage can be arranged if required. Whilst the courtyard is on a slight incline, there are no steps between the car parking areas and the cottage entrances.

		Mickle Rigg has been specially adapted for wheelchair access, with no steps, extra wide doorways, low switches, and a large bathroom with grab rails. This cottage for two can be booked in conjunction with any of our family cottages.



Fisher Gill	Ground floor only, entrance 50 metres from car parking; no entrance steps; some narrow width doors; three internal steps
Mickle Rigg	Ground floor, entrance 20 metres from car parking; wheelchair adapted (see above)
Chapel Beck	Entrance 30 metres from car parking; internal flight of stairs to cottage then several small internal steps.
Round Knott	Entrance 20 metres from car parking; no entrance steps; single bedroom and bathroom on ground floor, living area upstairs; some narrow width doors.
Miller Moss	Entrance 30 metres from car parking, three stone entrance steps; both bedrooms and bathroom on ground floor, living area upstairs; normal width doors.
Cloven Stone	Entrance adjacent to car parking; one entrance step; both ensuite bedrooms on ground floor, living area upstairs; normal width doors.
Raven Howe	Entrance 20 metres from car parking; no entrance steps; all bedrooms and bathroom on ground floor, living area upstairs; normal width doors.
Brae Fell	Entrance 30 metres from car parking; no entrance steps, two internal steps; two bedrooms, bathroom, dining area and kitchen downstairs, sitting area upstairs; some narrow doors.
Great Calva	Entrance adjacent to car parking: three stone entrance steps; no internal steps, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and dining area downstairs, sitting area upstairs, normal width doors
