Follow the directions below according to from where you are travelling.

Nearest train stations are Penrith (20 minutes by car) or Carlisle (20 mins by car)Most car hire companies (Europcar, Avis, Hertz and Enterprise) have a base in Carlisle.

Nearest airports are Manchester (90 mins by car) or Newcastle (90 mins by car).

From the South

Leave the M6 at Junction 41 turning on to the B5305 heading towards Wigton and Caldbeck. After approximately 12 miles you descend into the village of Sebergham. There is a steep climb out of the village, and the entrance to Monkhouse Hill is about half a mile further on the right hand side just before the crossroads.

  From the North

Leave the M6 at Junction 42 and follow the signs to Dalston. At the 'T' junction opposite the Bridge Inn turn left towards Welton and Caldbeck. 1 mile beyond Welton turn left onto the B5305 Penrith - Wigton road. The entrance to Monkhouse Hill is 300 yards on your left.
