Self-catering may not be an obvious choice for a small business meeting or
training event. But
at Monkhouse Hill we've created a real alternative to the standard hotel
experience. Spacious 4 and 5 star cottages instead of hotel
bedrooms, informal meetings on leather sofas or
around a giant oak table, a wide range of catering options from 'DIY' to
a resident chef, and outside hot tubs or saunas for the occasional 'breakout'
session. And all for a significantly lower cost per head than most
conventional hotels. Most of the normal 'conference
extras' are of course available - mobile broadband (no charge), good mobile reception,
flipcharts, TV and screen projection, permanently available beverages etc.
Attendees all have their own
bedroom; bathrooms are normally shared between two. Alternatively we can quote for an
'own bathroom' or 'shared twin' options if required. Most of the lounge / meeting
rooms have panoramic views across the Eden Valley - an inspiring backdrop to
any development or decision making event.
And we offer a few more
compelling features - try some outdoor adventure activities at a nearby
centre, enjoy a selection of complimentary bottles of real ale from our local brewery, and take advantage of free access to
the North Lakes Spa swimming, gym and other leisure facilities in Penrith.
Not to mention some energising hill walking around the spectacular North
Lakes. Previous clients
have been a little nervous about whether a self catering event will succeed,
but have always reported delight afterwards - not only at the quality of
accommodation, but at the quality of contact and communication within the
group, which simply would not have taken place in a hotel environment.
