The 5 acres at Monkhouse Hill have seen a transformation over the last few years. Over 400 trees have been planted, a small lake, pond and connecting stream have been created, all set in a stunningly designed landscape.
Guests are encouraged to make the most of the grounds, and to make full use of our garden games and sports equipment.
Around our land are the foothills of the Northern Fells and the farmlands of the Eden Valley. A booklet showing walks from the cottages is provided.
The cottages themselves are set around the original but more recently extended courtyard. Converted 400 year old barns sit comfortably alongside sympathetic additions built in 2000. If booking more than one cottage, they will not be far apart.
Children will let off steam on the outdoor play area – complete with swings, slide, rope wall, tunnel and secret house. Or challenge parents or grandparents to table football, pool or table tennis in the Games Room.
